Customer Rating: Summary: cheap batteries.. not a bad thing. Comment: bought these to leave in my truck - I carry a few smaller flashlights with me that use the AA - haven't paid attention to how long they actually last - but they work for what I needed them for. Customer Rating: Summary: Cost effective Comment: These don't last quite as long as the number one or two alkaline battery brands, but they get within 85% or so of them. And they are a lot cheaper. So, unless you are using them in an application where it is difficult to replace the batteries, it makes sense to stock up on these. Customer Rating: Summary: Cheap, decent quality batteries Comment: Nothing special, just good batteries at a good price.
I try to use rechargeable at home, but have a need for standard AAs at work. I tend to buy whatever's the best price. I purchased quite a few of these packs from Amazon and have no complaints. Customer Rating: Summary: There is a difference Comment: I thought Duracells would last longer. Now I'm wondering if I have been duped by advertising, and I'm usually undupable. These Maxells last about 15-20% longer in my S3 camera with which I also take quite a few "videos." In an AM/FM radio, I'm getting six weeks using it two hours a day.
I realize that everything's relative, but I've used Kodak, Maxell, Duracell, RayOVac, and generics. I'll stick with these, and the price is pretty good, too. Customer Rating: Summary: fine AA batteries with lots of value Comment: Maxell makes a great battery; and these batteries will show you just how good they are made once you try them. I really like this because I often travel by public transportation and I use my portable CD player to listen to music. I always get several hours more use out of these "Gold" Maxell AA batteries; and that's grand!
Of course, these AA batteries can be used in anything that requires them--not just portable CD players. The 20 pack offers value, too; and that's important in these expensive times!
Use these batteries before their expiration date. The expiration date will always be roughly five years into the future; but some people still have them lying around in a dresser drawer anyway. The problem is not only do they lose their potency; the batteries also begin to corrode. When the batteries corrode eventually a whitish powdery sticky substance begins to leak out of them and this makes a mess--trust me!
Do NOT dispose of these or ever place these in or near a fire. They could indeed explode. I wouldn't carry them loose either--they should be protected in their cardboard case or they should be already installed in your portable CD player, your flashlight or whatever device you placed them into.
Overall, these Maxell AA size batteries are simply excellent if you need AA size batteries. I highly recommend them for any device that needs AA size batteries.
